Sheffield Conservation Area New Slate Roof Case Study

Roofline Developments Ltd has vast experience with installing new roofs on conservation buildings, which is the reason they were chosen for a recent new roofing project. The project was for a new roof on The Old Sawmill in conservation area Ewden Valley, Bolsterstone, Sheffield. The job was a large scale roofing project comprised of two roofs totalling 500sqm of 16x10” blue slate.

Details of the Listed building roof replacement

As can be seen from the roofing case study photos the original stone roof was removed. The planners insisted on stone or slate been installed, resulting in the client choosing blue slate. The sheer size of the roof meant that 20 conservation Velux were installed, giving a good deal of light to the building.

The outcome of the roofing project was that the buildings are almost ready to be advertised as four holiday lets. The new slate roof complements the beautiful surrounding areas perfectly and we are sure they will be fully booked in no time!
