Roofline developments have just been awarded a tender for restoration/maintenance works on Aldern House in Bakewell, the Peak District National Park Authority head offices. This roof repairs project is just outside of Sheffield and work is expected to last 3-4 weeks & commences early September.
Roofline Developments has a large highly skilled team that can take on large scale roofing projects, like this listed building roof project, delivering a first class service without delay.
All of the flat roofs need to be re-covered to ensure no damp or leeks. The repairing of the flat roofs will be done with bitumen roofing for maximum lifespan.
The cast iron rainwater goods are also to be replaced on all roofing.
Due to the harsh weathering condition brought on from the Peak District surroundings, a large amount of repointing is also required. Works will include initial stone removal and then repair and also pointing works in lime mortar.
As this is a grade 2 building special care and careful preparation is required by Roofline Developments to meet all specifications set out by the planning officer, whom we will work closely with.
The stone and slate roofs will also require repairs and replacing where necessary, all inline with the historic nature of the building. The final step will be the painting of the roofline timbers.
